Why Go Organic?

In March 2017, Maresca obtained an Organic certification from the Soil Association for the trade of Organic Scottish Salmon farmed in Shetland and the Orkney Isles. Going forward, organic salmon shall be the future of farmed salmon for its health benefits and the traceability structure in the harvesting and packing process. The paramount difference between superior and organically certified salmon is the low density of fish per cage and their feed is based on organic proteins and fish oils. This diet is organically sourced and free from genetically modified organisms thus ensuring an end product that is healthier in all aspects and free from any build up of parasites and pollutants.
